Tsuzuki-ku - ward of Yokohama City, Japan
 

Tsuzuki-ku (都筑区) is a ward of Yokohama City, Japan. 171,429 people are living in Tsuzuki-ku at this point in time. Tsuzuki-ku is 27.88 square kilometers in area. The average of the age in Tsuzuki-ku is 36.0 and it is the lowest score in the Yokohama City.

Tsuzuki-ku is the newest ward in the Yokohama City. Tsuzuki-ku was built in 1994, and a part of Midori-ku, and a part of Aoba-ku were merged into Tsuzuki-ku.

The tree of Tsuzuki-ku is crepe myrtle and lots of crepe myrtle exist in Tsuzuki-ku. There is a "Yokohama historical museum" in Tsuzuki-ku, and it was built in January 1995. A big hospital was built in 2003, and this hospital is one of the most biggest hospital in Tsuzuki-ku.

Transportation of Tsuzuki-ku

There are no trains to commute except one subway in Tsuzuki-ku. The subway is called The Yokohama City Subway. There are four subway stations in Tsuzuki-ku. "Nakagawa" station, "Center-kita" station, "Center-minami" station, and "Nakamachidai" station. Buses are also available. There are some areas where far from the subway station, so citizens in Tsuzuki-ku use bus many times.

The new Line 4 of the Yokohama Subway, currently under construction, will pass through Tsuzuki-ku.

Changing of Tsuzuki-ku

Tsuzuki-ku is developing since it was built. "Kouhoku new town" is in Tsuzuki-ku. Government planned of making new town in this area about 30 years ago, and many people are moving to this town. Ward office of Tsuzuki-ku is located near the "Center-minami" station. The capital part of Tsuzuki-ku is the place between "Center-kita" and "Center-minami". Center means the capital part of Tsuzuki-ku. Also this new town was planned to make lots of parks with lots of plants and natures. There are three big shopping centers in Tsuzuki-ku. First one is called "Mosaic Mall", and it is located near the "Center-kita" station. Second one is called "Iti" and it is also located near the "Center-kita" station. There is place to enjoy the bowling. The third one is called "Tokyu-S.C." and it is located near the "Center-minami" station. There is Movie Theater in this shopping center and this is the only Movie Theater in Tsuzuki-ku. Government is now planning to make a new city called "Tantatown" in Kouhoku new town and it is now broadcasting in the commercial message.
